These school holidays we’re celebrating love and joy with family and friends!
Express yourself in bold and colourful ways with stories, songs and a bit of sparkle in our interactive storytelling events, workshops and craft sessions.
Decorate your own kite with all the things that make your heart soar. Join us for Storytime Sessions with a splash of rainbow flair. Experience a musical adventure about love, joy and being very, very silly.

Create a Kite craft activity

Inspired by best-selling children’s picture book Under the Love Umbrella, written by Davina Bell and illustrated by Allison Colpoys, celebrate the wondrous ways love is shared with your family and friends. Use colour and collage to decorate your own kite and add it to the Library’s mural wall for all to see, as part of a craft activity designed by Allison.
Perfect for children aged 5-12 years, and their families.
Drop in anytime between 3-5pm daily from 10 to 27 January 2026, on weekends between 31 January to 29 March 2026, and on Labour Day (9 March 2026).
Library on the Lawn

Throughout January, the Library’s forecourt will transform into an imagination playground for our youngest literary explorers.
Join us from 13 to 15 January 2026 between 10am-1pm.
Rainbow Storytime

Do you love stories, songs and a bit of sparkle? To celebrate Midsumma Festival, we’re adding a splash of rainbow flair to our beloved Storytime sessions.

Mural of Me: Collage workshops with Nicky Tsekouras

Calling all curious, creative kids! Join artist Nicky Tsekouras in this imaginative hands-on workshop to express yourself through colour, texture and playful paper collage.

Storytime

Our Storytime sessions showcase classic stories and new works from much loved authors – along with your favourite songs and rhymes for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Storytime runs every Wednesday at 10:30am (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
Toddler Tales

Come along and make some noise as we explore language and literacy through stories, rhymes, and songs for children aged 18 months to 3 years.

Baby Bounce

Perfect for children aged 18 months and younger, join us for a fun, interactive session of stories, songs and rhymes.
Baby Bounce runs every Monday and Wednesday from 11.30am-12.00pm (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
